EasyStore August 2024 Updates: Smarter Features for Smarter Selling

As part of our ongoing mission to empower merchants, EasyStore is excited to introduce a suite of powerful updates for August 2024. 

These enhancements are designed to streamline operations, improve customer experience, and offer more robust reporting and security features for your business.

What’s New This Month

1. [POS] Customer Display Screen

Now available for any smart device, the customer display screen enhances your checkout process with:

  • Order Transparency: Show customers the items they’re purchasing in real time.

  • Promotional Banners: Display ads, membership benefits, or app download prompts.

  • Interactive Input: Customers can directly input their information when needed during checkout.

To set it up, go to POS > Settings > Customer Display Screen.

2. [Order] Sales Attribution and Customer Binding

Personalize service and track performance by binding customers to specific staff or store locations:

  • Bind to Staff: Link a customer to a staff member via the POS or a unique QR code.

  • Bind to Location: Assign customers to store locations by displaying location-specific QR codes.

Sales attribution details are visible on the customer detail page and will apply to all future purchases—both in-store and online.

  • Generate QR codes via:

    • Staff: Settings > Staff > Select Staff > Choose Location

    • Location: Locations > Select > Edit Location > Generate QR Code

If a staff or location is removed, the system will automatically reassign customers to a new one.

3. [Order] Enhanced Listing Filters

  • Clearer Labels: “Location” is now labeled as Order Placed From.

  • New Filter: Fulfillment Location helps you manage orders by where they're fulfilled.

These updates improve tracking and organizing your orders.

4. [Customer] Pickup Order Barcode

Pickup orders now include a scannable barcode shown:

  • At checkout

  • On customer account pages

  • In email confirmations and pickup notifications

This simplifies in-store pickups by letting staff quickly scan and verify orders.

5. [Customer] Spam Prevention on Import

To prevent spam when importing customers, invitations will be blocked if:

  • The same phone number is repeated over 10 times

  • Names match the email address exactly

This ensures a cleaner, more authentic customer database.

6. [Inbox] Enhanced Inbox Features

Manage communications more efficiently with:

  • Member-Centric Analytics: Get insights on individual customer behavior.

  • Cart Item Preview: See what’s currently in the customer's cart from your inbox.

7. [Product] New Access Point for Product Templates

Product Templates are now more accessible:

  • New Entry Point: Access them via the "More Actions" menu under Products, not the sidebar.

8. [Product] Inventory History Export

Easily analyze stock movements:

  • Background Export: Exports run in the background.

  • Downloadable File: Get notified via email and download the file from the inventory history page (available for 1 day).

9. [Report] Export Product & Variant Performance

Gain deeper insight into your performance data:

  • Background Processing: Continue working while the export is generated.

  • Notification & Access: You’ll receive an email with the file link, which is also available in the report section for one day.

10. [Setting] Location-Based Pickup Scheduling

Improve the pre-order and pickup experience:

  • Let customers choose pickup dates and times

  • Set preparation time before pickup availability

  • Send alerts when orders are ready

Manage this in Settings > Location > Fulfilment Options.

11. [Setting] Staff Report Permissions

New permission settings let you control access to:

  • Product Sales Reports

  • Product Cost & Profit Reports

This ensures sensitive data is only available to relevant team members.

Boost Your Account Security

Stay secure with our latest protection measures:

  • Login OTP Protection: Enable OTP for new devices, browsers, or locations (web only).

  • Secondary Email: Add a backup email for password recovery.

  • Login Notifications: Receive email alerts for every login attempt.
