The partnership was formalized during the DEX Connex Gateway to ASEAN: Thailand - Malaysia Business Matching event, organized by the Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) on August 6, 2024, at True Digital Park West in Bangkok.

The MOU signing took place at DEX Connex Gateway to ASEAN: Thailand - Malaysia Business Matching, a signature initiative by MDEC aimed at strengthening cross-border business collaborations. 

The event serves as a platform for trade, investment, and knowledge exchange between Malaysian and Thai enterprises.

This year’s event brought together 54 Malaysian startups, 50 Thai partners, and hosted over 120 business matching sessions, enabling participants to engage with industry leaders, investors, and potential partners.

Since its inception, the DEX Connex initiative has facilitated over RM200 million in business engagements. 

Previous editions in Thailand, the Philippines, and Indonesia have connected over 100 Malaysian companies, generating RM400 million in potential opportunities for tech-driven collaborations in the region.

The event was supported by key partners, including MATRADE Thailand, the Embassy of Malaysia in Thailand, DEPA Thailand, True Digital Park, Diplomatic Council, Malaysia-Thai Chamber of Commerce (MTCC), GEN Thailand, and Techsauce.
