Jakarta, August 2023 – In a major step to advance the digitalization of Indonesia’s Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), Exabytes Indonesia and EasyStore have officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). 

This strategic partnership was inaugurated by Dr. Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno, the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, who praised the initiative for its potential to elevate the digital resilience of local businesses.

The MoU was signed by Alan Kok, Chief Commercial Officer of EasyStore, and Indra Hartawan, Country Manager of Exabytes Indonesia. The event was witnessed by Mr. Rulli Nuryanto, S.E., M.Si., Expert Staff of the Minister for Macroeconomics at the Republic of Indonesia.

This collaboration is set to support 5,000 MSMEs in embracing digital transformation by enabling unified commerce—a strategy that consolidates sales across ecommerce websites, marketplaces, social media platforms, and offline points of sale (POS), such as physical stores and bazaars.

By streamlining operations and reducing reliance on multiple software solutions and manual processes, this initiative equips MSMEs to compete in today’s fast-paced digital economy.

As part of the partnership, Exabytes and EasyStore will also organize a series of coaching clinics to educate MSMEs on digital tools, marketing strategies, and multichannel sales management.

Data-Driven Growth Insights

Recent data shows consistent growth in Gross Merchandise Value (GMV) across EasyStore merchants' branded websites and POS channels since early 2023.

This trend reflects rising consumer confidence in direct and offline sales, underlining the effectiveness of EasyStore’s unified platform. 

In contrast, GMV performance across third-party marketplaces has been more volatile, highlighting the growing importance of owning and optimizing brand-driven sales channels.

SME DigitalFest 2023: Building Resilient SMEs

Following the MoU signing, the SME DigitalFest 2023 took place on August 11–12 in Jakarta. Held under the theme “Building Resilient SMEs in the Digital Age,” the two-day event featured a conference and bazaar, attracting MSMEs, government representatives, and industry leaders.

The event included keynote speeches from 15 expert speakers and interactive sessions with 15 MSME booths. Notable attendees included Ir. Dini Hanggandari, M.Si., Director of Metal, Machinery, Electronics, and Transport Equipment at the Directorate General of Small and Medium Industries.

Among the highlights were appearances by public figures and entrepreneurs like Nino Fernandez and Jehian Panangian Sijabat, who shared insights on business resilience and innovation.
