5 SEO Tips For Beginners
By Thara Sofian · 27th November, 2014
Now you heard it all the time, but what exactly is SEO? SEO is the process of increasing the amount of visitors to a website by obtaining a high-ranking placement in the search results page of a search engine (SERP). The higher a website ranks in the results of a search, the greater the chance that that site will be visited by a user. Here are 5 basic tips on SEO that you should know.
1. Good Content
Content is king, so be sure to have good, well-written and unique content that will focus on your primary keyword or keyword phrase.
2. Links
If content is king, then links are queen. Build a network of quality backlinks using your keyword phrase as the link. Remember, if there is no good, logical reason for that site to link to you, you don’t want the link.
3. Social Media
Understand social marketing. It IS part of SEO. Google analyze quality of content and website base on social engagement, interaction and review as well. So the more you understand about sites like del.icio.us, Facebook, Google +, LinkedIn, Reddit etc., the better you will be able to compete in search.
4. Website Load
Everyone knows the importance of site loading speed which influences the bounce and conversion rate. Did you know that a website that loads more than 7 seconds increases the Bounce Rate? Keep your website simple and avoid high resolution images or large files as they can drastically slow down page rendering.
5. Call to Action
SEO is useless if you have a weak or non-existent call to action. Make sure your call to action is clear and present.
