“No One Was Doing This—So I Did It First”

Back in 2016, Dr. Nadia was just another candle hobbyist crafting wax melts during her only day off each week from working full-time at her veterinary clinic.

Her husband encouraged her to try selling her creations online. At that time, scented candles weren’t in high demand, and Candle Meltz were virtually unknown in Malaysia. But she saw a gap in the market—and she filled it. Just four years later, her product was proudly sitting on the shelves at AEON.

One of the biggest challenges? Most Malaysians had never heard of Candle Meltz—they were more familiar with traditional candle jars.

Determined to educate her audience, Dr. Nadia turned to YouTube and Instagram. She created and shared tutorial videos explaining the materials used, how to use Meltz, and the benefits of her products. 

Her time off was spent crafting, editing, and promoting—anything to bridge the knowledge gap and build awareness around her brand.

When asked about her biggest sacrifice, Dr. Nadia laughed: “Did I mention I’m a mother too?”

Balancing her roles as a veterinarian, entrepreneur, and mom often meant sacrificing sleep. Early on, she managed orders through WhatsApp—but this led to confusion, miscommunication, and even incorrect deliveries.
