How These Mothers Built a Baby Brand Out of Love
Have you ever imagined what it’s like to balance motherhood and entrepreneurship like Andrea?
Today, we’re unwrapping the inspiring journey of young mothers who turned their passion for their children into a growing online business.
There’s nothing quite like a parent’s love — it’s unconditional, protective, and deeply intentional.
When it comes to choosing products for their babies, parents naturally prioritize quality, functionality, and even thoughtful design.
With the rise of Ecommerce, Andrea found herself searching for the best products for her baby — and along the way, discovered a few innovative items that sparked a thought: Why not do this ourselves?
Fueled by passion, she and her partners embarked on a journey to bring something new and meaningful to the market.
Let’s dive into the story behind Petit Label.
Tell Us a Bit About Yourself and Your Business
I’m Andrea, one of the three co-founders of Petit Label, the sole distributor in Malaysia for Marcus & Marcus, a brand from Vancouver.
We’re a team of moms united by our passion for providing the best for our children while constantly searching for the latest baby product innovations in Malaysia.
Our focus is on products that encourage babies to self-feed in fun, engaging ways — making life easier for parents too.
We chose the name “Petit Label” because we didn’t want to limit ourselves to just one product type.
We offer a wide range of baby essentials, including clothing, care items, cutlery, and more.
What Were You Doing Before Starting This Business?
All three of us come from different industries — I have a logistics background, one partner worked in advertising, and the other came from the trading industry.
Together, our different areas of expertise created a well-balanced partnership.
What Inspired You to Sell Baby Products Online?
As moms, we were searching for something different in the baby product market.
Initially, we weren’t online — we focused on finding unique brands to bring in.
While looking for our ideal product, we realized: why not manage the retail side ourselves?
We saw two potential paths: one as a distributor and another as an Ecommerce business, which had lower startup costs.
That’s how we decided Ecommerce was the right starting point for us.
Is there any specific aim for your business?
We hope to strengthen our brand Petit Label where we can come out with our own baby products.
As of right now, we are still gaining some experience in selling baby products from Marcus and Marcus.
What’s Your Business Goal?
Our goal is to strengthen Petit Label and eventually launch our own baby product line.
For now, we’re gaining valuable experience by selling Marcus & Marcus products and learning everything we can about the baby product market.
What Challenges Did You Face, and How Did You Overcome Them?
The beginning is always tough — especially when you start with no experience in the baby product industry, Ecommerce, or retail.
We began from scratch, and sales were slow at first. But we kept learning and adapting along the way.
We experimented with different methods, starting with Google Ads and adjusting our targeting.
Later, we shifted toward working with influencers on Instagram and Facebook — a strategy that worked better for our audience.
There are no shortcuts to success. It’s about taking one small step at a time.
Why Did You Choose EasyStore?
I started with EasyStore’s free trial and managed to build a basic website in just 10 minutes.
I loved the clean, simple templates and how user-friendly everything was.
After sharing it with my partners, we all agreed it had everything we needed to start.
That’s how we got started with EasyStore.
Any Words of Advice for Other Online Sellers?
Don’t be afraid to start, and never stop learning.
There’s no shortcut to success — it’s all about taking one baby step at a time. If we can do it, so can you.
And yes — it’s never too late to learn.
