Recap of Exabytes Cloud & E-commerce Day 2015
By Amirul Mokhtar · 29th April, 2015
"Get found online" and "If not now, then when?" were some of the common sayings at the Exabytes Cloud & E-commerce Day 2015 that was held on Monday in Kuching, Sarawak. This event was the first of its kind in East Malaysia. Aimed at bringing together numerous experienced Internet Marketers and hosting providers, it was a great opportunity for beginners and pros alike to get insights into the current trends, strategies, as well as techniques and advancements related to the E-Commerce and Internet Industry in East Malaysia. The conference also aimed to offer valuable consultation and advice with the objective to enhance the capacity of the industry.
Special thanks to Exabytes, a leading hosting company in Malaysia and also by Multimedia Development Corporation (MDeC) for organizing the event.
A fresh look at mobile and cloud trends in Malaysia
“If you remember this, then you are old enough” said the CEO of Exabytes, Chan Kee Siak when referring to an old telephone model during his keynote speech about the evolution of communication technology and mobile trends of today.
Other speakers also stressed on the importance for businesses to go mobile because smartphone usage in Malaysia has passed desktop usage. And with the announcement of Google’s Mobile Algo, mobile friendly sites will be at an advantage in mobile searches.
That wasn’t all, we also had experts present about the much talked about “Cloud” solutions for businesses.
Be found online!
The attendees also had the chance to meet Justin Keh, Strategic Partner Manager of Google AdWords. “If not now, then when?” asked Justin as he discusses how businesses can be found online with the use of AdWords. Other experienced Internet marketers also shared their knowledge on Ecommerce and how anyone can now own a website and start selling online.
“Ok Google”
Another highlight of the event was the lunch break. Yes, the lunch break. For the first time ever, the people of Kuching got to try on the Google Glass and Oculus rift. It was an experience that the attendees will never forget.
We would like to thank everyone who came and stayed with us from morning until evening to learn new things about the internet industry.
If you still haven’t tried on the Google Glass and Oculus? Don’t worry, we will be in Kota Kinabalu on 30th April. So grab this opportunity and register now at www.exabytes.com.my/events/eced/
