Tell us a bit about your business and your story: How did you get started and decide what to sell?

A few years ago, we started going to the gym regularly and naturally wanted a good set of workout clothes. But when we looked around, we found that most sportswear was too expensive and lacked variety — the materials and designs were similar everywhere, with nothing that really stood out.

We’ve always believed that wearing a great outfit can boost your self-confidence. So instead of buying overpriced gear, we thought — why not create our own? That’s when the idea of launching our own affordable and stylish sportswear brand came to life.

And so, Hwoofit was born, with the slogan: “You Can Train in a Fashionable Way.”

How did you make your first sales? Which channels are now generating the most traffic and sales for you?

Before we had our own website, we started by promoting our products on Facebook, using the Boost Post feature to advertise. To our surprise, we managed to generate revenue early on, which encouraged us to get more serious about the business.

To gain customer trust, we registered the business under SSM (Suruhanjaya Syarikat Malaysia) so we could operate legally. We then expanded to online marketplaces like Lazada, 11street, Carousell, Shopee, and Mudah.

While these platforms helped us reach more customers, the 10% commission fees on each item sold made it difficult to maintain our goal of affordability. That’s when we decided to create our own website, and after discovering EasyStore on Facebook, we knew it was the right investment — and it hasn’t let us down since.

How does EasyStore help your business? What tools or apps do you find most useful?

EasyStore makes setting up and managing our online store extremely easy. The drag-and-drop features make customizing our website simple and intuitive — no technical knowledge needed.

We’ve implemented many of the available tools and apps, and honestly, they’ve all played a role in helping us improve our performance. From design to marketing to order management, the ecosystem is incredibly supportive for small businesses like ours.

What advice would you give to those who are new to ecommerce or planning to start selling online?

My advice: sell something you’re truly passionate about.

Starting an ecommerce business is tough in the beginning. Most of the time, you’ll be a one-person team — handling everything from product sourcing to marketing to customer service.

That’s why it’s so important to love what you do. When you're passionate, you’ll naturally have the knowledge, patience, and drive to push through the early challenges.
